DECEMBER 2020 - Gates presents advanced high torque synchronous belts for industrial applications: the new Gates PowerGrip™ GT4™

Gates, one of the world's leading manufacturers of industrial power transmission products, introduces its newly developed synchronous belt Gates PowerGrip™ GT4™ 8MGT and 14MGT.

PowerGrip™ GT4™ 8MGT and 14MGT: the latest in synchronous belt technology

PowerGrip™ GT4™ belts have the highest load carrying capacity, an extended temperature range and improved chemical resistance.

All advantages at a glance:

  • Significantly higher transmission performance: up to 25 % more than previous design types
  • Maintenance-free
  • Compact, lightweight and cost-efficient drives
  • High security against tooth protrusion
  • No lubrication necessary
  • Static conductivity (ISO 9563): the product therefore complies with the requirements of Directive 2014/34/EU - ATEX
  • Available on request in PowerPainT™ design for possible use in paint shops
  • Temperature range: -40 to +120°C (temporarily up to 140°C)
  • Perfect fit on HTD™ belt pulleys
  • Halogen-free: environmentally friendly

Optimal locations are high performance industrial environments with pumps, conveyors and other machinery where efficiency, reliability and high quality are required. PowerGrip™ GT4™ belts eliminate the need for lubrication and maintenance, run quietly and reduce costs.

 

The PowerGrip™ GT4™ portfolio covers the length range from 384 to 6860 mm. Standard widths are 20, 30, 50 and 85 mm for 8MGT and 40, 55, 85, 115 and 170 mm for 14MGT.

The design:

  • Technically advanced blend with glass fibre tensile cord, elastomeric teeth and backing and nylon coating
  • The newly developed EPDM rubber protects the tensile cords against environmental influences and abrasion
  • Spirally wound glass fibre tensile cords provide high tensile, bending and elongation strength
  • Nylon coating with a low coefficient of friction protects the tooth surface from wear
  • The precise shape and pitch of the elastomeric teeth guarantee exact engagement in the tooth spaces of the pulley
  • Standard widths 20, 30, 50, 85 mm (8MGT); 40, 55, 85, 115, 170 mm (14MGT). Other widths available on request
