One man, one era - our Mr. Huber turns 80

On 25.07. our senior boss Georg Huber celebrates his 80th birthday.
On this occasion, we would like to give you a brief insight into his eventful life. Join us in reminiscing and celebrate Mr. Huber, our long-time boss and managing director!

The youngest of five children, Georg grew up as the son of a farmer.
He spent his youth in a convent boarding school, because his parents wanted nothing more for him than to become a priest.

However, "Schorsch" (=Georg) saw things quite differently and had no desire to do so. Therefore, he dropped out of grammar school after the 10th grade and trained as a locksmith instead. To the dismay of his parents, he soon left the country life behind and sought adventure in the big, exciting city of Munich. Mr. Huber learned the trade of a merchant and worked in the company of a relative in the 1960s. The latter was a successful post-war entrepreneur and recognised the potential in him. This is how Georg Huber came to run one of the first car washes in Germany!

And there was also a lot going on in his private life. In 1965 he married his Gretl (Margareta).

His wife was sometimes sceptical about his "1000" ideas, but always actively supported her husband in everything he planned. And that is still the case today!

The Hubers took the plunge into self-employment and initially delivered pharmaceuticals throughout Munich. Later, the opportunity arose to take over a company for car care products. Thanks to his inventive genius, the so-called "crumb gel" was created during this time, with which one could clean one's hands without any water.

With their combined efforts, Mr. and Mrs. Huber built up their joint existence step by step.

Their greatest happiness was the birth of their daughter Daniela in March 1976.

A success and family story at ConCar
In September 1976, ConCar was founded in Munich.

At that time, however, Georg and Margareta Huber were still a ConCar supplier. Later, Mr. Huber became a partner of ConCar and in December 1978 he finally took over the company completely. The foundation stone for a "new ConCar" was laid.

The company moved from Munich to Garching into an old farmhouse. Mr. and Mrs. Huber put a lot of love, energy and sweat into the restoration.

As managing director, today's senior boss developed new sales strategies, expanded the existing customer base, gained numerous new customers and suppliers at home and abroad and gave the company a new direction - from car accessories and care products to drive belts for the industrial sector.

Without a navigation system, but with 40 to 50 city maps in his luggage, Mr. Huber drove all over Germany to convince potential business partners of his belt products.

Along the way, Mr. Huber diligently studied English to coordinate with suppliers worldwide and to coordinate the growing export business. Many of these business relationships still exist today.

Despite the many trips and ambitious business goals, Georg Huber always remained down-to-earth and never forgot to take care of his family.

Hard work leads to success
Over the years, ConCar became increasingly successful and the brand became more and more established. This was followed in the early 90s by the move to a proper commercial building in Garching-Hochbrück and in 2004, together with his daughter Daniela, the construction of an own building in Hohenkammer. The number of employees also increased steadily. For all those who still know the senior boss from "daily business" - he was always a good and fair boss and only very rarely allowed himself to be ruffled.

Mr. Huber retired from the operative business a few years ago.

He placed his trust in his daughter and son-in-law and made it possible for the two current managing directors to take ConCar forward in his spirit, but also with their own ideas. Nevertheless, today's jubilarian continues to follow the developments and market events surrounding ConCar with great interest.

Georg Huber is also still very active and convivial.
The senior boss and his wife are hardly ever absent from ConCar family celebrations, which always makes our long-serving employees very happy.

He is interested in politics, sports and business, but is also available for gossip from the celebrity world. He has travelled almost all over the world and even today the two sprightly pensioners enjoy travelling with their family.

To stay fit, he trains daily on the cross trainer, goes on bike tours and walks a lot - preferably around Lake Tegernsee.

The Huber couple enjoy their retirement together in their lovingly landscaped garden and are happy about granddaughter Sina, with whom they spend a lot of time.

"Without our senior boss, his courage and persistence, his business sense and his feeling for people - not to mention his sense of humour - our company would not exist today!

Daniela and Boris Engelbrecht with all their employees say THANK YOU!

Dear Mr. Huber, we wish you all the best for your 80th birthday!
